Andy Hamilton earned a quarter final spot for the second year in succession at the Ladbrokes World Championships by defeating Welshman Terry “The Bull" Jenkins 4-1.
In a superb performance Hamilton hung on as Jenkins took the first set. World number 10 Jenkins threw an incredible 14 180's in a high class match that saw him average over 100 but still lose.
The secret of success for Hamilton was yet again his ability to hang in under intense pressure and not miss doubles at crucial moments.
Andy will now look forward to playing Phil Taylor in the quarter finals on the 28th.
After their epic battle at the beginning of the month at the Players Championship Finals which saw Taylor edge out a 10-9 victory Andy will fancy his chances of inflicting defeat against the 15 times World Champion.
