Blackpool’s World Number 17 Ronnie Baxter and Norwich’s Darren Webster qualified for the 1st & 2nd Euro Pro Event Finals of the year yesterday at the Robin Park Tennis Centre in Wigan. Baxter will be flying out to Hildesheim Germany on Friday 31st January to complete in the £100,000 3 day event.
Darren will be flying out to Veldhoven in Holland on February 14th for the 2nd Euro Pro Tour event of the year and likewise will be joined by 16 seeded players and 20 UK qualifiers and 12 other European players.
With Baxter and Webster seeded for the qualifying rounds they both received byes in the first round. Baxter won his place in Germany by beating John Goldie in the second round and Paul Barham in the third. Darren won through by also beating John Goldie in the second round and Ben Ward in the third round of his competition.
With 8 Euro Tour Events plus European Championships being staged in the PDC Calendar in 2014 the Importance for qualifying for theses lucrative Euro events is becoming paramount for all of the players on the PDC Pro Tour.
