Wadi Camacho was unsuccessful in his British Cruiserweight Championship challenge on the 5th October at the o2 arena. Camacho had his opponent Tony Conquest down in both the first and second round of the 10 round contest but unbelievably still did not get the decision.
The fight was exciting from start to finish and although Camacho was deemed the loser by the judges both his manager Jess Harding and trainer Don Charles both had Camacho winning.
Wadi will have learned important lessons from this fight and can take plenty of positives moving forward into the New Year. Should Tony Conquest win his British Title challenge being scheduled for the early part of next year then a return between both boxers would be a fight that anyone who watched the original bout would be happy to see.
Over the last few weeks JBD dart Players have continued to impress in their respective careers.
14 year old Billy Holmes hit his first 9 darter this month in a local competition. Darren Webster and Steve Brown move ever closer in qualifying for both the Players Championship Finals and Ladbrokes World Championship with solid results in Dublin. Ronnie Baxter also posted good results in the Players Championship qualifiers and continues to hover just outside the World's top 16.
Baxter then played in the World Grand Prix Sky televised event last week winning his first round game against former World number 1 Colin Lloyd two sets to nil. Unfortunately Ronnie was not as successful in his next game against Simon Whitlock. Uniquely The Grand Prix is the only PDC tournament that makes the player start and finish with a double. Whilst Baxter was more than capable of getting off the mark throughout the game his finishing let him down in this instance and let Simon roll out a 3-0 winner.
All 3 JBD stars are appearing in the PDC Players Championship Qualifiers in Killarney this weekend.
