Jamie Caven and Darren Webster enjoyed great success this weekend at the Players Championships in Killarney. Caven who had already got through to the semi-finals of the Irish Masters on Friday night capped a fantastic week of darts to reach another Players Championship semi-final on Sunday before losing 6-3 to eventual winner Michael van Gerwin. Jamie who is in the form of his life whitewashed both Stuart Kellet and Nigel Heydon 6-0 before coming un-stuck against Grand Prix Champion Van Gerwin.
Webster who became a full time pro in February reached his first Players Championship semi on the Saturday losing to Robert Thornton 6-3. But not before defeating Vincent Van Der Voort, Colin Osbourne and Dean Winstanley in the previous rounds.
Both players have put themselves in serious contention to make the Players Championship finals being held at Butlins in Minehead this November.
