Andy Hamilton made it through to the last 8 of this year's Grand Slam by beating Gary Anderson 10-9 in a thriller tonight at the Civic Centre in Wolverhampton.

Anderson who was last year’s finalist played his part in the contest of the tournament thus far.

With both players slugging it out, it became apparent that the man with the darts on the last leg would win the match.

Consequently Hamilton stepped in with a 180 on his first throw to hammer home the advantage. 9 darts later it was all over and Andy continued his impressive record of reaching the quarter finals of every TV event in 2012.

Tomorrow he will play 2 time World champion John Part over 31 legs.
