Andy Hamilton’s Players Championship Finals challenge ended in defeat against 15 times World Champion Phil Taylor.
The match was a classic with Taylor fighting back from 8-4 down to win 10-9.
With both players averaging over 100 it turned into a thriller.
Hamilton had his chance to finish the match needing just 60 to finish the match off at 9-8. Inexplicably he threw his first dart out of the board, his second landed in the 20 thus needing tops to finish off the match. Alas it was not to be. Taylor finished the leg off with double 16 to level 9-9.
With Taylor landing 137 and 140 with his first 2 throws it was always going to be difficult for Andy. Taylor finished the leg in style and so moves into the last four.
It was as close as it could be and shows once again that Andy Hamilton is moving in the right direction in respect to winning a major PDC tournament.
