Hamiiton through to the second round Andy Hamilton made it through to the second round of the 2012 World Matchplay currently being held at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool. Andy defeated Ireland’s Brendan Dolan 10-7 in a  game where neither man could dominate.Although leading all through the match Hamilton could never pull away from Dolan and at 8-7 it looked like going to the wire. Thankfully Dolan missed a double to even the contest and Andy held his nerve to finish on double 8 and to move one game away from victory.Andy knows that he can play a lot better and this will comfort him on Thursday 26 July when he face’s left hander Mark Webster. Webster, who beat former World number 1 and former Matchplay Champion Colin Lloyd  10-6 averaged 86.69 and hit 31% of his finishing doubles. Whilst Andy averaged 90.42 and hit 29% of his finishes in defeating Dolan.World number 8 Hamilton should win but Webster who made it through to last years quarter finals will be no pushover.
