Darren Webster saved his best performance till last in his final group game of the Singha Beer Grand Slam of Darts. Playing against darts legend Phil Taylor last night - 14th Nov - Darren whitewashed the 16 times world champion 5-0. After losing his first 2 group games against Ian White and Darryl Fitton 5-3 and 5-4 respectively and with no chance of making the qualifying stages Webster produced the best performance of his career. You could argue that with Taylor having already qualified the "Power " was not as focused as usual. But Taylors winning mentality never normally allows for such indiscretions to occur, much less in front of a massive live TV audience. Frustratingly Webster could have won both of his previous matches and he knows it, both games were easily within his grasp. However a win against Taylor can never be underestimated and Darren will roll into the Players Championship Finals in Minehead at the end of the month in fine fettle.
