Leicester based World Class Darts Pro Jamie Caven's UK Open Quarter Final ended in a 10-6 defeat against Dennis Ovens. Caven who had performed magnificently in the previous 3 rounds was level at the halfway stage but Ovens slowly pulled away to grind out a victory. Jamie said “this is properly the best I have performed in a televised event in my pro career and will set me up nicely for the World Match Play in Blackpool next month”. The other JBD players had mixed fortunes in the Speedy Hire UK Open Tournament. Bristol’s Steve Brown went out in the qualifying stages whilst Dutch star Jelle Klaasen went out in the 1st round. Premier League star Andy Hamilton and Norwich Ace Darren Webster made it to the last 32 stage before succumbing to Raymond Barneveld and Dennis Ovens respectively. All 5 players now look forward to the forthcoming Players Championships being held in Birmingham on the 16 & 17 June.
