Norwich's Darren Webster had the best weekend of his professional career thus far when he won the Ladbrokes Irish Masters Championship in Killarney last Friday. Webster was impressive from the first round and defeated Joe Cullen 5-2 in the final to pick up the 5000 Euros winners cheque.
On Saturday in the Players Championship Qualifier Darren was equally as impressive and although losing to ever consistent Jamie Caven in the semi-final Darren had already beaten former Premier League Champion Gary Anderson in the previous round.
In Sunday's Jock McEvoy Gold Darts Classic Darren was also in fine form beating World Number 9 Justin Pipe in the last 16 before losing to eventual winner Kym Hybrechts at the quarter final stage.
It really was an impressive weekend for Darren. As well as assuring himself of a place in the World Championship Finals in December at the Alexandra Palace Webster lifted himself 5 places in the PDC rankings to a career high 43.
With 4 Players Championship Qualifiers left to play in Darren has given himself an outside chance of making the cut for the live ITV Championship being held at Butlin's in Minehead at the end of November.
It has been a really good 30 days for Darren. On the 27th of September Webster won the first ever SKY televised PDC Fishing Championship with the top weight of 16lbs 4oz. Then on the 29th Darren travelled down to Minehead and won the JBD Butlins Masters beating Kevin Painter 6-5 in the final. This could be a really productive period for the Norfolk man and on current form and with the confidence he is playing with anything is possible in the run up to Christmas.
