Two time world snooker champion Mark Williams MBE won the 5th PDC Fishing Championship at the first time of trying. The competition was held on June 27th at Manor Farm Fishery in Biggleswade. Keen angler Williams aided and abetted by fellow snooker pro Ian Burns held off determined challenges from fellow Team Snooker member Ian McMculloch and BDO world champion Scott Mitchell to win the competition with a weight of 15lb 6oz.

Team Snooker consisting of Williams, Ian McCulloch, Steve Davis OBE and darts player Steve Brown also won the team event for the second year in succession with a total haul of 32lbs 8oz. The event was broadcast on ITV4 on July 7th and 8th. Sponsored by SunBets, Aachen Wellness, Dalroad and Carp Couture the championship helps raise vital funding for Parkinsons UK.
